Grief & loss counseling in Washington · Online support for whatever you’re carrying
Grief doesn’t follow a schedule, and it doesn’t only follow a death.
It can show up after a divorce, a miscarriage, a diagnosis, or a relationship that ended without closure. However it arrived, you don’t have to carry it alone.
I offer online grief counseling for individuals and couples anywhere in Washington.
Losses I help people through
- The death of a spouse, parent, child, sibling, or friend
- Pregnancy and infant loss
- Divorce and the end of a relationship
- Adoption-related loss
- Major life changes, like a diagnosis, retirement, or the loss of a career
What grief counseling looks like
There’s no right way to grieve, and no timeline you’re falling behind on. Our work might include making room for what you haven’t been able to say, finding ways to stay connected to the person you lost, and getting through the parts of daily life that grief has made hard.
It also means noticing if grief has turned into something heavier, like depression or anxiety, that needs its own attention. I draw on Solution-Focused and CBT approaches, adapted to your pace.
Grief in couples and families
Loss can pull partners apart, even when they’re grieving the same person. People grieve differently, and those differences can feel like distance. Couples work can help you understand each other’s grief and turn toward each other instead of away.
Faith and grief
If faith is part of your life, it can be part of our work, whether loss has deepened your faith or shaken it. Learn more about Christian counseling. If faith isn’t part of your life, it won’t be part of your therapy.
